What Awaits You at Beacon Orthodontic Associates
You can expect comfort, convenience, and a family-friendly environment whenever you visit our office. We keep the patient experience simple so here it is in four easy steps:
- Step One: Warm Welcome You will step into our office and be greeted by our team with a warm smile. Enjoy our modern yet homely atmosphere, with comforts such as video games to keep your little ones entertained.
- Step Two: Records In our 45- minute session, one of our assistants will take digital photos of your mouth and an updated X-ray if we do not have one from your general dentist. Sometimes, we may also do a scan (no gooey molds here!) if necessary. This helps us get to know you better and ensures we have all the information needed for your personalized treatment plan.
- Step Three: Orthodontic Diagnostics To learn more about your issues and goals, Dr. Sachs will conduct an orthodontic diagnostic exam and discuss your treatment with you. We encourage you to ask any and all questions about orthodontics, your mouth, and your treatment here.
- Step Four: Arrange the Next Meeting We will then discuss with you whether further analysis is needed and when to have the next visit to start the process of giving you or your loved ones dream smiles!
Please note that before you arrive, make sure you have filled in your patient forms and brought any orthodontic insurance and relevant X-rays done in the last six months.

Orthodontic Questions Answered!
- What is the difference between a dentist and an orthodontist? Dentists tend to focus on wider dental and oral health. However, an orthodontist is a specialist in tooth alignment, bite, and addressing crooked smiles. Our specialist, Dr. Sachs, is highly educated and skilled in orthodontics and is an excellent guide to a straighter, stunning smile.
- Can adults get braces or aligners?
Absolutely, it is never too late to get the straight, beautiful, and healthier smile you deserve. Braces,Click to open this link in this tab and Invisalign®Click to open this link in this tab clear aligners, are both excellent orthodontic options for adults and teens, and unlike braces of the past, are more comfortable and discreet.
- When should I take my child to the orthodontist?
The American Association of OrthodontistsClick to open this link in a new tab says that age seven is the perfect time for your child’s first orthodontic exam. Dr. Emily Sachs can provide early orthodontic care and help guide the healthy growth of your child’s smiles.
- Do I need to straighten my smile? If you have crooked teeth, you probably feel quite self-conscious when smiling or laughing. But straighter smiles aren’t just cosmetic. Leaving your crooked teeth can lead to they can lead to poor bite, difficulty cleaning, and, therefore, a higher risk of oral health problems such as gum disease and decay. Visit us and we can assess your needs and potential treatments.
- My dentist said I need an orthodontist. Can you help? We work with referring dentists to provide specialist orthodontic treatments. We collaborate with other dentists to understand patients’ needs and medical histories and stay in contact with them throughout the process.
